Monday, May 7, 2018--San Antonio to Magog
It was a travel day. Sue took us to the airport after we all ate chilequiles at a favorite place this morning. The Air Canada flight to Torontowas almost completely full and left on time.
I sat next to a 72-year-old lady from Vancouver who had come to San Antonio just to visit the city and was pleasantly surprised. She said it is such a nice place. I was surprised that she had found and done several things that many tourists never know to do. She had walked all the way up the River Walk to see The Pearl development. She had seen the sound and light show Saga projected onto the facade of the Cathedral. She had been aware of the free concert at the Cathedral which Wes and I attended Sunday night, but she hadn't gone because she was so tried from all the exploring she had been doing combined with the heat during her time out already that day.
Getting through customs and immigration was very simple in Toronto, and the flight to Montreal went well, too. Our only real problem of the day came when trying to find the rental car at the Montreal airport. There is a shuttle to the rental car center, since the company Wes used was away from the terminal. We had to ask several times where to find the shuttle stop. When we got there, the signs were all for hotel shuttles that stop there. But a driver confirmed to us that the rental car shuttle also would stop there. After an hour of searching for the location (which ended up being upstairs), taking the shuttle, and checking out the car, we were finally on our way to Magog.
Magog is a nice village on a lake. It's definitely a tourist town. It was dark when we finally got here, but we managed to find the street and our B&B--Au Coeur de Magog. We have a suite with a living room, a bedroom, and a bath upstairs. It's the suite they have that has two beds. It's cozy and old. We had homemade chocolates waiting for us and just relaxed with a fireplace going on the TV screen for about an hour before getting ready for bed.
